As of October 3, 2026, every walk and story is free. Purchases and "Ask your guide" are currently not offered. The policy details for those features remain below in case they return.

Location

Sori uses your location on your device to play a story when you reach a stop and to give walking directions. Your location coordinates are not sent to us. We only record whether you are near a tour route ("on site" or "away") together with usage events, so we can tell how the tours are used.

Microphone and "Ask your guide"

The microphone is used only while you choose to ask the guide a question. During that conversation, your voice is streamed to ElevenLabs to transcribe and speak the reply, and the text of the conversation is sent to Anthropic (Claude) to write the answer. Conversations are linked to a random identifier derived from your purchase, not to your name or Apple ID, so we can apply the question-time limit.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment details. To unlock "Ask your guide", the app sends us Apple's signed record of your purchase, which we verify and reduce to the random identifier above.

Usage analytics

We use PostHog to count anonymous events such as which stop was played, how much of it was heard, and whether a purchase was completed. IP addresses are anonymized. We do not record your screen, use advertising identifiers, or sell data. The website does not set analytics cookies.
